ESV Kid’s Bible, Thinline

In line with the brand identity for these Bibles for children, I had a lot of fun developing these vibrant and unconventional timelines, as well as a number of descriptive icons for 10 interior maps, depicting some of the key features shown on each one.

ESV Children’s Bible (Keepsake Edition)

The cover mechanical for the Children’s Bible (Keepsake Edition) incorporates a number of different elements. Using the information in the slug as a key, I was able to signify to the printer what type of cloth would be used for the cover, as well as the placement for gold foil or a deboss effect. Once the illustration of the boat is placed within the debossed area, all of these elements come together harmoniously for the final product pictured below.

ESV Children’s Bible
(Let the Children Come)

The ESV Children’s Bible (Let the Children Come) was designed with special attention to the colors that appear in the cover illustration—which was being repurposed from an illustrated Bible that was produced in the early 2000’s—so that it wouldn’t be discolored when printed on a cream colored paper. I picked out a textured stock to give the Bible a more tactile feel, but not so rugged that it was distracting. The title on the front cover is printed with a matte green foil to match the paper on the spine, both of which were picked out with consideration for the materials available from the printer.
